Technical Committee
Work of the Mobile Payment Forum is carried out largely through its primary committee, the Technical Committee, which is comprised of the Forum's Steering Group and Working Groups. The Technical Committee is the primary member forum for the discussion and development of recommendation and requirements documents, white papers, use cases, and specifications, consistent with the strategic direction of the Board of Directors. The Technical Committee also provides the primary interface with other industry consortia and standards bodies.

Steering Group
The Steering Group is responsible for the review and approval of all technical activities of the Mobile Payment Forum, as determined by the Board of Directors. The work of the Steering Group includes such activities as establishing technical Working Groups to carry out technical activities; evaluating activity proposals and assigning the work to appropriate Working Groups; providing reports on the progress of technical work; initiating contact with other industry groups and establishing liaisons as necessary; and managing the evaluation of any contributed IPR for possible management by the Mobile Payment Forum.
